Provimax is feed additive consisting of a blend of volatile fatty acids (VFAs) and calcium salts of VFAs designed to enhance production performance and eggshell quality in laying and breeding birds.

 

VFAs are known to play an essential role in the protein synthesis and enzyme activity within the liver. As birds age there is an increasing physiological requirement for VFAs for the repair of the intestinal wall and resulting in a reduction of the level of VFAs available for the liver. This results in a decrease in total egg production and an increase the number of second-class eggs.

By supplying VFAs through the feed, the level of VFAs reaching the liver necessary for optimal production of first-class eggs can be maintained.
